At fifteen, I thought I was the height of sophistication going to the local disco drowned in my mother’s Dune by Christian Dior. I remember my friends reeking of Anais Anais, Musk from the Body Shop, or Poison. I can’t imagine any of us would be caught dead in these fragrances today. Still, your first fragrance stays with you, in the same way your first kiss or first love does. What did you adore as a teenager? Do you still like it now?
What Was Your First Fragrance?

First it was Love's Baby Soft, because everyone had that. Then it was Sand & Sable...that had a really long run. In fact, I still like that scent. Then it was Polo for Women by Ralph Lauren...now, I only wear body splash from Bath & Body Works. I don't wear perfume very often because I am in nursing school & we're not allowed to wear it to school...too many people with respiratory problems &/or allergies.

I loved Avon Charisma (I sold Avon products as a pre-teen to my relatives, friends, mom's friends and folks in apartment building too. It was sweet, strong and gave people a headache when you had it from head to toe.
It walked in the room before I did.
I then graduated to something to Jean Natte (not sure if spelling it right). It was the all over body splash. My mom used it so it had to be great -- right? Wrong. I smelled like a stale lemon pie.
Then it was the musk oil (I wanted to get a boyfriend and we thought it attracted the guys). You really belive those ads growing up in the late 1970s as a teen in NYC. And I was boy crazy without a boy!
Then, there was Chanel for Men in high school. I bought it for a gift for my boyfriend, loved it so much that it became my scent too. So I smelled like a man thinking that would turn him on? I must have been nuts. Correction: I had no clue ages 14-16.
Then, I had a good run with Chanel Cristale and then off to CK-1 unisex.

Love's Baby Soft, and then Jovan Musk. I believe Windsong also. Now I wear Very Irresistible, (purple), Amarige, Romance. My boyfriend always asks why I wear perfume everyday and I tell him so that I smell like a lady and he just laughs and says no one would ever mistake me for a man. I just don't feel competely dressed without perfume or at the least body lotion.

Love's Baby Soft was my first fragrance. Do they even make it anymore? I remember buying it at Caldor's with my mom. Such happy times. Then there was Lauren, by Ralph Lauren. Now I like Vera Wang, Armani Mania and LaCoste.

My first fragrance was probably Charlie! UGH! I also slathered my body in Love's Fresh Lemon! My absolute fav that I have searched high and low for and can't find anywhere! Anyone have any suggestions? I would douse myself in it after my dance classes to smell fresh and clean until I could get home to shower! Love the crisp, clean lemon scent. I love all things lemon still...but wish I had some Love's Fresh. Did order what I thought was going to be the real thing from an online perfumery, but alas, a fake!
I would steal my mom's YSL Opium (the Parfum--she almost killed me!), until she bought me 3 of my own: Exclamation, Vanilla Fields, and Sunflower. I feel like ralphing even thinking of those fragrances--blech. I was in the elevator a few years ago with a cleaning lady, and I was like, "you smell so familiar." She told me she was wearing Exclamation. I couldn't stop laughing... BTW, that fragrance HAS to be discontinued. I don't know how the cleaning lady got her hands on it. Anyway, I think I had every Elizabeth Taylor fragrance after that--something was terribly wrong with my sense of smell.

Love's Baby Soft & Heaven Sent were my first perfumes as a kid. Then in high school I moved on to Exclamation, Skin Musk, and Colors by Benneton. I can almost still smell them! And I got the Liz Claiborne triangle bottle as a gift. In 10th grade, I got my boyfriend Drakkar for Christmas, it had just come out then, and the girls went crazy over that scent! Do they even still make that??

I liked Exclamation, it is terrible! Big white and black bottle looked like an exclamation point. You could smell me before you saw me! That crap gives me a headache! In high school it was all about CK-1 smells like lemon furniture polish and Eternity mixed... Yuck! In the 90's Calvin Klein was it he had Obsession, Eternity, and Escape. Good fragrances but they have been way over sprayed! (by the way I still like Poison the purple bottle not the green or red, Cristian Dior can do no wrong:)

I love Chanel #5 , it is not too over powering just a lingering scent, but oh so feminine. Makes me feel very girly which is a good thing plus always get comments. Do not feel finished dressing till scent is on-----Barbara
