Summer of Citrus

Bath and Body Works is a staple in my life. I love that it has so many stores that I’m pretty much guaranteed to find one wherever I am, whether I’m roaming around L.A. or visiting friends or family somewhere else in the United States. (I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve flown to see my family in New Jersey and realized once I got there that I needed something body-related and was able to pop over to the Bath and Body Works in the mall. It’s a lifesaver!) Last weekend, I was walking past my local BBW when I saw the big new displays of citrus products. Since that’s my all-time favorite product scent category, I immediately ran in and grabbed a few.



New for summer, the citrus collection consists of three different scents—Peach Citrus, Pomegranate Citrus, and Apple Blossom Citrus. They all smell really fresh and uplifting and are the kind of scents I want to use in my shower in the morning to get me up and at ’em. Each is a really nice mix of citrus notes and another fruit, but they’re still unique enough to not smell like any of the (many) other products that are already in my shower. I bought the shower gels in all three scents (I know, I know …), but I just couldn’t resist because of the buy-three-get-two-free promotion that was going on. (I also snagged two of the matching body lotions that way). The Fragrance Mists seem really interesting, as well. They’re sort of lightly scented—nothing that would carry you through a full day but perfect for the weekend or a really hot summer day when you just want to wear something super light and refreshing. I’m thinking of going back while the promotion is still going on and grabbing some of those, too, but I’m trying to reign myself in because there’s just no space left in my closet. I think if I have to start storing beauty products in my kitchen, I’m going to have to take a long, hard look at my shopping habits. Of course, I won’t look too hard because there’s also a whole bunch of new scented antibacterial hand soaps at Bath and Body Works, and since those are technically something I need rather than just want, they will definitely be in my bag before long. How can anyone resist the lure of the Lemon Sugar Fizz scent? I can’t wait to try it!
