Nail Favorites from New York Fashion Week

The beauty blitz that is New York Fashion Week wrapped up last week and as usual, there was a lot to take in. For the next few weeks, I’m sharing some of my favorite looks in makeup, hair, and nails from that whirlwind week. This week let’s look at the nails!

There were a lot of nude, flesh tone shades, and their variations that went down runways. There was even a shocker… coral nails! Would spring be complete without a coral nail? I don’t think so. In the images seen here, models are wearing OPI’s Samoan Sand and MonSooner or Later. Other shades seen on the runway include Butter London’s Tea with the Queen and Lippmann Collection’s Fashion.

Sure, a nude or solid colored nail is good but sometimes something fun and daring is called for, and as usual, CND pushed the envelope and gave us some very interesting nails for spring.

At Joy Cioci, CND’s Candice Manacchio designed “Lucite Lace.” This manicure used clear tips with hand-detailed latticework. The idea was that these nails provided energy and attitude when paired with the look’s orange lip and curls.

For the Jen Kao show, Wanda Ruiz created “Lethal Love”, a gradient manicure that attracts the eye with bold shades in four variations. This look involved an airbrush tool, if but you’re interested in recreating this look at home, use CND Midnight Sapphire, Anchor Blue, Rouge Red, or Green Scene, combine it with Inkwell, then apply Air Dry Top Coat while wet for an ombre finish.

The Diego Binetti show always delivers something interesting and creative. For this show, Candice Manacchio delivered on the drama with this “Harlequin Hardware” look. Nails were stained with CND Colour in Raspberry Parfait and Frosting Cream then capped in gold and silver metal for an artisanal finish.
