Films often set out to tell one story but end up telling another one all together. Here are my picks for films that end up telling a green story.

1. Soylent Green (1973)

3. Star Trek IV - The Voyage Home (1986)
To save Earth from an alien probe, Kirk and his crew go back in time to retrieve the only beings who can communicate with it, humpback whales.






4. Waterworld (1995)
In a future where the polar ice caps have melted and most of Earth is underwater, a mutated mariner fights starvation and outlaw "smokers," and reluctantly helps a woman and a young girl find dry land.(via IMDB)




5. Silent Running (1972)

Cool list. Uh totally random, but it all makes sense in the end. Some of these were made long before 'green' was 'green'
