Pear & Freesia Dry Body Oil

I am not a lotion person. Never have been. But I have dry skin, and I need a little something to keep things smooth and hydrated.

Until now, I’ve always used plain-old baby oil, applied right after the shower while my skin is still damp. But after trying Jo Malone’s Dry Body Oil, I may just have to upgrade to something a little classier.

Applying oil to still-damp skin is a great way to keep skin conditioned, but Jo Malone takes the concept two steps further. First, this body oil is very light and is quickly absorbed. Baby oil is fine, but it can take a while to sink in, and it’s important to wait until everything is perfectly dry before dressing. The Dry Body Oil is lighter and disappears instantly into the skin, keeping me nongreasy and ready to go right away.

The other great thing about this body oil is its scent; the English Pear & Freesia is a light, sophisticated scent that’s great for everyday use. I don’t wear perfume to the office, but I can wear this ladylike fragrance without overpowering my bus-mates or coworkers. When applied as a body oil, it’s much more subtle than traditional perfume. When the weather gets hot, this will be my preferred method of wearing fragrance. Right now, the only other available scent is Lime Basil & Mandarin, although I’m hoping that they expand the selection to include some others.

I always thought that there was no way to improve on plain old-fashioned baby oil. But somehow, Jo Malone has done it.
