A Good Television Show

I love a good movie as well as a good television show.  I get immersed in them at times.  A good Bette Davis movie or a comedy/romance such as 'The Holiday' or 'The Proposal' keeps me glued to the tv screen.  It also brightens my day with laughter.  Especially on days that are cloudy, windy and a little chilly.  I throw my afghan across my legs and partake of nice hot bowl of soup and I'm good to go!

I pretty much feel the same way about certain sitcoms which come on during the week.  There are certain ones which I just can't seem to do without.  But what about the new shows?  Sometimes, I wonder if the execs even know what they are doing themselves.  A new show will come on maybe once or twice, sometimes it will run its course for one season and before you know it, they are taking it off of the air!  That's great, if it's a show that you do not particularly like.  But, then there are times when a show that you really liked, did not make it for the network execs and it ends up getting cancelled.  Really, I do not believe that they even give these shows a fair shake.  Everything is rated so microwavedly these days.  The show does not have time to prove itself.

Unfortunately, one of my fav shows, 'The Forgotten' will not be returning.  I loved the closeness of the group in finding out the identiy of the one 'forgotten'.  Thank goodness the CSI's will be returning.  I love good detective work and like to 'assist' in solving the mystery.  It gives my brain a good workout as well, and they all are fantastic shows in the first place.

Somehow 'Cold Case' got lost among the returning shows.  Very unfortunate, as most liked how the show went to retro years to solve an unknown.  And, I found it very heart touching when the case was solved and they would show those involved, including friends and family, as they were when they were younger and then merge into the current day and time and the deceased would show up for us to see as if expressing thanks to the detectives (who could see them as well) for solving the crime.  Very touching.  How do they expect a show to keep their ratings up when they constantly move it around to many different time slots to accommodate for basketball and football.  Not to mention that there are so many good shows on at the same time and, really, you can only look at one at a time.

There are many more shows of which I know many of us are fans of.  Hopefully, we all will be content with what's left to watch.  I think the networks will fair better allowing the show a little more time for audiences to view and rate.  Although, I know they are looking at the 'cost'.  It's always about the money.

I have a few star rated shows in my opinion that truly I hope will not go anywhere soon.  I have designated those time slots for curling up on the sofa and having a good watch!
