Because instrumental music has no words, there is no language barrier—anyone, from any culture, can enjoy a beautiful piece of music. Depending on the type of song, it’s the perfect way to kick-start your day, to help you work, or to mellow out before bed. We’ve rounded up eight of our favorite instrumental music clips, along with links to help you find more of the artists’ beautiful music. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
Tommy Emmanuel: “Beatles Medley”
Tommy Emmanuel is legendary in his native Australia for his finger-picking skills, but he’s not nearly as well known in the U.S. as he should be. Check out this masterful instrumental medley of Beatles classics for proof of his incredible talent, or pick up his live album, Center Stage.
John Butler Trio: “Ocean”
Also hailing from Down Under, the John Butler Trio is known for its rootsy rock style. Though most of their music includes vocals, this beautiful instrumental track, “Ocean”, is one of our favorites.
Rodrigo Y Gabriela: “Tamacun”
This instrumental guitar duo hailing from Mexico City has taken the world by storm with their sophisticated instrumental interpretations of classic rock songs and their own originals, like this one. We love their album, 11:11.
Ana Vidovic: “La Catedral”
Ana Vidovic is an extraordinary young classical guitarist from Croatia. We’ve previously featured her stunning rendition of Isaac Albeniz’s “Asturias”; now enjoy her lovely version of “La Catedral,” by composer Agustin Barrios.
