Teach Yourself Guitar

You can play the guitar without lessons. Remember The Beatles? Do you think they took lessons, or were they just super talented musicians with virtuosic skill? Did Michael Jackson take dance lessons? Prince? Likewise, you can become a good entertainer, playing the guitar for your audiences. I personally recommend listening to some CDs with guitar solos in the songs. At a certain point, just pause the CD, and try playing the notes—not necessarily in sequence, but you just want to get an overall feel for the area of chords you are playing. I learned how to do melodic sweeps by listening to the chord changes in music, and I would improvise my own accompaniment. I hope with this information, you’ll get a good head start learning how to play by ear. All you have to do is put your ear into it—the most vital thing to a musician—and you never have to learn to read music unless you want to.

Teach Yourself
Learning to read music is preferable for most, but a lot of stars don’t read music—they have hired other musicians and artists to do that for them. If you are playing live, then you are more likely to hire other musicians to assist you in the performances. The key word is musical ability. This is the definition of musicianship. Just get in the habit of playing consciously and robotically. After all, it’s not always about talent, but sometimes it’s about appeal, how people like you, and your supporters and fans who believe in you.

Some people can play instrumental solos, and others need back-up performers. Here are some valuable tips to help excel:

  • Try listening for the distinctive differences in melodic structures. It is very important that your magical ear become your guiding tool.
  • Take your time when following difficult scores. You’re not learning how to read them, but you are mimicking the melody.
  • Find a practice buddy. This is great for developing your artistic ability.
  • Take the back seat. Let someone else play the guitar, and then you try to play what you heard.
  • Trust your intuition. This is your motivational process.

You will get used to playing with confidence in front of other people, and especially when you are composing your own melodies. You may want to spend as much time as you can practicing.

The idea is to become better, and not worse. When you go to bed at night, try to think and dream music throughout your sleep, because you want music to be a part of you, and not just something you choose as a hobby. Hobbyists never get anywhere, but you will.

When you go to buy your first guitar, you will want to look for one that plays well, sounds great, looks nice, and fits your price range.

Guitar Hero Three for Wii is a little different than that for Playstation Two and Three and Xbox 360. There are a few differences between the guitar controller for Wii than with the other controllers. The cheats and codes for Wii are, also, different than the other consoles.
