One day Ana, one of my team work members, invited to a party. I was the boss in that moment in a really serious company. Ana invited me to this party to celebrate with her friend who became a Ph.D. I was really excited for that party, waiting for the weekend.
That day we were outside of the place, of course I was checking twice my clothes, I want to be according to the celebration and then I saw a lot of people watching me ... I was, like, uncomfortable; why do they look at me in that way? I was thinking … does it matter, I thought? I will have a great time, no matter what ... and then, Ana rang the bell.
We waited for more than five minutes until someone decided to open the door and …
Oh my God! I opened my mouth when I saw the people inside.
Was a dark party: tattoos, punks, motorcycles, bands, guitars, and BIG speakers into the a cellar ... HUGE cellar! Kind of far for the door.
Ana just looked at me and she apologized. She said. “Erika, if you want we can go and have a dinner in another place!”
And I just looked at her with an inquisitor sight and I told her in a serious tone,
“Why didn’t you tell me about the kind of party ... why, just tell me why?” Ana was really embarrassed, thinking that was a bad idea to invite me. Probably she was thinking that she can lose her job.
I just kept telling her, “If you were telling me this, I should have come with some fake tattoos, makeup, and weird clothes!”
And then she started to laugh!
Then she introduced me: she is a professor in this university... and she looked like Cindy Lauper. He is a professor too, and he looked like one of the Thompson Twins (in this party), and she is the girl who is celebrating, she was like Evanescence singer! So funny!
I think that Ana was really surprised about my behavior! We became good friends.
