A Father is someone who truly cares
Enough to always lend his ears
To hold, to comfort, to calm worst fears
To scold, to chastise, and to wipe away tears
A Father is a person who’s always on call
To stand beside you and to cushion your fall
He’ll pick you up whenever you’re down
And show you by example how to carry on
A Father will sacrifice his true happiness
To make sure that you have only the very best
He will even try to save his last dollar away
To provide for you a much brighter day
A Father knows just how to make you smile
He’ll display his sense of humor every once in a while
He’ll do whatever it takes to make you happy
Cause a Father always tries to be a very good daddy
A Father is made up of all of the above
And when blended together he is so full of love
Love that is dependable, sincere, and most kind
All ingredients of a Father like yours and mine
And so on yet another Father’s Day
Of all the things we could do or possibly say
Is simply to show gratitude and to thank you daddy dear
For being such a wonderful father over the years.
