Mark 11:25 says, And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let drop {let it go}....
How many times have you had a problem with someone and thought you had let it go, but the other person kept on bringing it up?
There was a time in my marriage when I was the one who kept bringing things back up. My husband and I would have a disagreement or a problem between us, and he would go, “Lets just forget about that.” But I would keep bringing it up again and again, I remember him saying to me in frustration, “Buba can’t we just let it go?” Now that is what Jesus is telling you and me to do in this verse. To forgive means to absolve from payment. It means to let it go, do away with it. How do we do that? Once you get to forgive the little things, it sure does become a habit. A very good one too, but not without God’s help...
If we want to walk in forgiveness, we’re going to need God’s help. In the book of John 20:22,23 it says...he breathed on them and said, receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; and if you don’t forgive them, they’re not forgiven.” In order to forgive someone who has offended us, we must first receive The Holy Spirit. God provides us with the strength and ability to forgive. As for myself I couldn’t do it alone, I needed God’s help to guide me. C’mon and be of good cheer. Try to be good to those who have rub’ you the wrong way. Now remember, it is not a one-time deal here. It’s going to take every second of every minute of every hour of everyday, yup that’s it! “Nothing is easy, I know.” “No pain – No gain!” “The only way out is through.”
