I think the best advise, because she gave me thousands, was to marry someone who made me laugh and whom I liked to talk to. It worked....I 've been married for 22 years and still in love.

MOM ALWAYS SAID BE KIND TO ALL YOU MEET AND HELP THEM IF YOU CAN. WHEN I WAS YOUNG, I REMEMBER HER HANDING A SANDWICH AND A DRINK OUT THE 1ST FLOOR WINDOW TO A MAN WHO WAS DOWN ON HIS LUCK. THERE WERE A LOT OF HOMELESS PEOPLE THEN TOO. SHE ALSO WARNED NEVER OPEN THE DOOR TO STRANGERS BUT NEVER TURN A HUNGRY PERSON AWAY NO MATTER WHAT LITTLE YOU HAVE, SHARE. GOD HAS BLESSED OUR FAMILY FOR YEARS FOR DOING THESE DEEDS. WE ALSO PASS THESE DOWN TO OUR GRANDCHILDREN.

My mom has given me a lot of advices. For example You don't have to uncover parts of your body to look beautiful you just have to be happy and wear something you like.Don't do something because everyone is doing it if you want to do it do it because you want to.But the most important advice my mom told me was: Learn more and more each day so that you'll have a job and you'll be able to buy everything you want. Knowledge is one of the things that can't be bought and it's almost the most important thing. And she told me I should never ever take money from someone or be with someone because they have money. She told me the baddest thing is not having your own money, because then your boyfriend can kick you out anytime and tell you I've fed you and clothed you etc etc because they have bought you then.Everyone deserves to be happy with someone they love ..And you need to be your own lady and have your own money and never ask from someone a dime.

When I was in 8th grade my mom told me to stand up to a girl who was pushing me around and the girl would never bother me again. She was right, and I've used the advice many times over the years.

My Mom said don't ever be a man's doormat!! Stand up for yourself and your belief's!
By example my mom taught me to love unconditionally. Especially my husband & my kids. She loved her grandchildren so much and took the time to play with them, read to them and cook with them. She made them feel important.
Mom always listened to complaints and heartache about friends but then asked me to try to see the other side.
"Listen to what she is telling you. Listen to what she is NOT saying. Forgive because even if it doesn't affect your friend, it is good for you."

No matter how good your husband is, make sure you have a credit rating of your own. She told me this when I was 18 and I never though I would need to have a bank account of my own, wouldn't having a joint checking be all a couple needed? I am so glad I listened to her. This sound advise has been a life saver for me on several occasions.
