To the most meaningful person in my life!
To Mother, my dearest and very closest friend.
Forty-six years for us through our own thick and thin.
You taught me well, housekeeping skills.
How to prepare good decent hearty meals.
You gave me knowledge of family structure.
How to care for little sisters and big brothers.
You planned my schooling, helped me stay focused.
So I’d become a college grad.
School days difficult with long hours
I used to get so darn mad!
Then you’d say “Baby, I know it’s tough, a lot of work
don’t be sad!”
“I’m your Mother respect my decisions,
Our family will be pleased and glad.”
You listened to problems when I debated life!
You’d say life is learning to deal with strife.
Interceding when I’d gone too far.
Said, “Daughter, you’ll be a golden star!”
Some words from Mother were ever so clear.
Other words left me wondering why?
As I remember all those lessons taught.
My dear Mother, my closest friend.
Why’d the Lord allow you to die!
Goodbye my closest best friend
I’ll love you until the end of time!
