Good observations. Another reason not to have a first date on Valentine's Day....if you break up it only serves as a reminder.
I've always viewed Valentine's Day as appreciating those you love around you; not just whoever you are in a "romantic relationship" with. I still give (and get) Valentines to my parents, sister, daughters, nieces and friends, in addition to my husband. I've never understood the complainers.
I agree, the complaining thing is really annoying. I'm spending this V-Day getting burgers with friends, and I'll be annoyed if they spend the whole time moaning about how they're single. Let's just enjoy the day, OK?
Seriously, just view the day as a chocolate-eating opportunity and you'll enjoy it so much more!
