We’ve all been there. You are out having a great conversation with some one and your thinking “Yes! Finally I’m talking to some one I am excited about” and then it happens. It might have been something they said or something they did, but once the deed has been done, you’re turned off for good. 1. Lack of Confidence
Although this might seem cliché, there is a reason for it. You would be surprised how far good posture will go. It’s an important body language signal that tells everyone in the room “I’m approachable, friendly, and you want to get to know me.” Both men and women are drawn to someone who looks like they are having fun and are fun to be around. Next time you are out at a bar, pay attention. You will rarely see someone who slouches and avoids eye contact with a crowd of people around them.
2. Death Breath
This is huge people. No one is saying you have to cake on the make up and hair gel to attract a date, but could you at least brush your teeth and clean your ears? Those basic skills your mom always nagged about might not be a big deal to you but they will send that hot chick or stud you’re about to chat up running for the door. Have you ever talked to someone with food in his or her teeth and no matter how hard you try, you can’t pay attention to anything but the remnants of their last meal? For a stranger with nothing else to go on, your hygiene is a crucial for first impressions.
3. Over Use of a Cell Phone
Everyone likes to feel interesting and important. Answering a phone call in the middle of a conversation is rude, plain and simple. If you’re talking to someone in person then you don’t stop mid sentence to have a new conversation with someone on the phone. It’s pretty inconsiderate. And yes, texting counts too people. One of the best ways to show a person you are interested is to give them your full attention. And although you may not care about the great deal she got on her new Coach bag, you should at least nod your head and hear her out.
