Life is really full of surprises, and certainly these surprises arrive when you least expect them. Sure, you would be surfing the net here and there looking for your dream guy or girl , but sooner or later you give up the search for that unique treasure and you decide to call it quits. Ironically, it is at that moment that life throws you a coconut, and quenches your thirst for what seemed like a distant dream of romantic bliss.
I have had my share of good and bad relationships, and I had always longed for that special someone who would engulf my dreams, desires, and ambitions. During one ordinary morning, I decided to surf a chat website to pass some time and perhaps have a few laughs. It was the usual Hi, how are you? kind of conversations, until he showed up ...
Remember those surprises I talked about? Well, I got the biggest surprise of my life after meeting my partner online. Click after click, we found out we had shared a lot of common things. It was a chance in a million (Or a billion!) that our paths had crossed via the net. Sounds cheesy? Well, it might be, but the net remains a means to an end, a path that is not stirred by human fingertips, but by the whims of fate and destiny. After talking together for about an hour, we decided to meet, and I had decided to be adventurous. We met, we talked about things, and felt even more bewildered at how fate had got us together. It was at that moment that I realized that love crosses paths in strange and unfamiliar ways. It is not mapped, nor has any directions.
Was it too fast? Of course it was, but I’m glad I took the chance and ventured into that wild unknown, since it’s not everyday that we meet our soul mates. My partner turned out to be my missing link, and meeting him changed my life forever. Not only did it open for me a world of romance, harmony, and mutual understanding, it had also contributed to my own personal growth as a woman, a professional (since we both work in the same field), and as a writer thirsty to write about some more windows that will open in the future. Well perhaps the “Windows Home and Family Edition” … who knows?!
