Most car washes are, let’s say, pretty brainless. Enter your coins, dollar, or token and you’re there. If only relationships could be the same ...
While at the car wash center today, I had no thoughts of tokens, dollars, or coins going into the slot where they are intended to go. Yet, my coins got stuck, one at a time, until no more could be placed in. It could be frustrating, but the answer was right around the corner.
Upon entering the car wash’s establishment, a young gentleman handed me back my money, to attempt a wash with the promise of a sparkling clean car. once again. Once again, the coins are not willing to enter the promised area of wash, rinse, and dry (as it simply states on the sign). Once again, I ponder the options, as there are other alternatives but I persist in the pursuit.
I went inside one more time (as we all do), to the young gentleman who is in charge of the car wash, with a pleasant smile. But, he has an empty hand and a large heart. The man hands me a token. It is gold, with an emblem that speaks nothing but success. He states, “Try this, it’s the best here—the total package will cost you nothing.”
I place the gold token where it is meant to be. It works, as he said it would, and I don’t question the process.
The gold is worth waiting for, if it works.
Yet, it will cost you your time.
