Why should I buy flowers from a florist when I can get the same from a grocery store?
Simply put, they’re not the same!
For starters, store bought flowers lack the maturity as evident by a shorter and thinner stem, and are less full because they are typically pruned at an earlier stage. Another dead giveaway is the rather inexpensive cellophane package the flowers are wrapped in; even more incriminating if you don’t peel off any stickers with the store’s name.
Let’s consider the symbolic value of flowers.
If this is the woman you plan on swooning, the one that gets your blood rushing, then you can’t afford the risk of burying yourself by buying something that is as generic and common as grocery store flowers. If money is of a concern, remember that it is not so much of importance the size of the bouquet, or the number of flowers, but rather the thought that went into picking a flower that you feel most represents or compliments them.
Picking flowers from a florist also shows your ability to go above and beyond, taking the time and care to tend to something so fragile. Investing your time by going to the florist and talking with a professional is sure to make a statement when you show up and give your lady her flowers.
So the next time you feel like surprising your partner, or are going out on a first date, be sure to invest your time and money in the rose that may just be the difference between a happily ever after and a goodbye.
What Would Simeon Do?
There are countless people you will come across in your life, but few that will leave you lost for words. When you do come across such a person, why would you ever diminish your chances of swooning her by buying flowers that are packaged for celebrations like friends birthdays, graduations, hospital visits, and so on.
I would never risk buying flowers other than from a florist. If this is perhaps my one and only chance to leave a lasting impression, then I’ll be damned if I don’t put my best foot forward and show my ability to rise to the occasion.
While a flower may only last for a week or so, the impression will stay forever. So be sure to make it a good one.
