Whatever happened to words wit and charm? More importantly, what happened to the men who knew how to use them? What happened to men who could make your heart skip a beat, your mouth go dry, or make you just plain breathless? I remember when a man could do that with just words. I miss that, and really passionate kisses.
I was recently asked the question, “Do you think kissing is dirty?” My response, “Only if done right.” To me a passionate kiss is one that starts with words, maybe a whisper. Telling me how much I’m wanted, how long this kiss has been thought about, how much he wants to taste me. The perfect kiss for me ends at the mouth, but never ever starts there. It may start at that spot where my neck meets my shoulder and climb to just behind and below my ear. It makes those tiny little hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I like a kiss that involves hands. I like it when he takes his hand and cradles the curve of my jaw, allowing his thumb to direct the tilt of my head with gentle pressure from his thumb on my chin. I like masterful. Do you remember when men knew how to do masterful and still be a complete gentleman? I like to be made to wait, to anticipate. I love that feeling of breathless anticipation you get when you know something good is coming. You know, that unfurling deep within the pit of your stomach, that melting feeling you get when everything turns to hot. This is where hands should be used. Men I remember would use the hands now to guide my head away from his lips and make the waiting an exquisite torture. He would tell me how long he’s wanted this moment, breathe in my scent and taste my neck, my ear, my cheek. He would whisper what he wants to come after this moment and make me melt like chocolate in a microwave. When he approached my mouth with his he would take his time and breathe me in and allow me to do the same. A masterful man could use his thumb to direct my chin and control the pace.
Never letting me know exactly when I would finally get to taste him. This is my idea of a really good kiss (at least the beginning of one). A really good kiss is something anticipated, longed for, shared.
