The Merriam Webster dictionary defines sabotage as “an act or process tending to hamper or hurt.” Amazingly, there are some people who intentionally sabotage good relationships. These individuals may have been hurt by past relationships. So, when a good man or woman enters their life, they tend to create unwarranted chaos. How is it possible to sabotage a relationship? Here are a few examples:
- An individual that sabotages a relationship turns into a detective: You tend to think this person is too good to be true so you look for dirt; checking text messages, cell-phone calls and, monitoring his or her Facebook page for comments and other activity. This person cannot even make a move without your interrogations. You begin to smother the relationship by taking the life right out it. Zapping the life out of a good thing is what you’re great at.
- An individual that sabotages a relationship makes false accusations: If you’re not able to find dirt, you make it up. You might think you’ll get lucky and catch them lying. So, you accuse them of flirting, cheating, or even lying about their whereabouts.
- An individual that sabotages a relationship lacks self-worth: You doubt that you are worthy of finally finding someone that compliments you. So, you begin to think that you’re not good enough, beautiful enough, smart enough, or even confident enough to be loved. This self-doubt or lack of self-worth festers and begins to poison the relationship.
