Every time we make a decision, no matter how big or small, would you rather be happy but wrong or sad but right? Without any second thoughts, I would definitely choose the latter. Why? It’s very simple.
If you are to make a decision and choose to be happy but wrong, it’s going to be a “ short-lived” happiness. Who wants that? You will always have something to be sad about - that is when you realized you’ve chosen the wrong path just to be happy. I find it very off and selfish.
However, if you choose to be sad but right, things will be better ... someday. At least, with this decision, you will have something to be happy about - you are on the right path. And, one day, with a smile on your lips you will proudly look back and say, “I’ve done the right thing.”
We will come to a point where we have to decide which path to follow. This time could be the toughest and you’ll find it very difficult to choose, especially if your happiness is at stake. We all need to remember, though, that our own happiness is what we make it. How can you be happy knowing that you’ve gone astray and that you probably hurt other people in the process? You must be a cold-blooded creature to find happiness in wrong circumstances.
Then again, how can you stay sad for long for being righteous? Following the right path may not be the easiest option, but think of what lies ahead (more like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
