I’m Out!!

Yeah!!!! I am out!! It has just been two weeks, but it feels like so much more. I packed my things while he was at work—my parents helped me load a trailer, yes it took some planning and a hitch for the back of my ride. But I was strong—the strongest and in the most control I have felt in a long, long, time. I left the man—I left the job—I left the state! I cleaned off the whole desk with one sweep of my long arm. I picked a new town, no—a city! I am not longer in the backwoods; I choose libraries, museums, classes, culture. I am happy.

I was blessed by many of the people who I have met in this adventure.

1) Thank you to Janet who put my apartment application ahead of others the Friday before Christmas so I was able to sign the lease same day and not stay in the motel during holidays.

2) D. Stone who let me park my U-Haul on his storage lot for nothing while I searched my new city for a place to live.

3) Thank you to my new neighbors for powering my holiday via extension cord thru the windows as power/heat couldn’t be had until after the 25th, oh and the buckets of water too.

4) Thank you to all the helpful folks of my new city—for directions, information, and kindness (people say hello here and mean it). Thank you for both of my jobs—I was able to transfer my part time job to this location and I had joked with my mom about how I would be working for NYE—and dang if I wasn’t. Well it was called “training” but I “worked it” and got tips too.

5) Thank you for Ms. C. at the ------- mission and thrift store for giving me such a good deal on only two pieces of a three piece set. I have never owned such nice furniture (added thanks to CPR leather clean/condition—amazing!)

Thank you to the universe for not giving up on me. I AM BACK! Thank you to Trill (if that is your real name) who I picked up one night outside of the greyhound bus stop. I had gotten lost on the way back to my hotel and had stopped for water, when I saw young girl, big backpack, dark night. I said hello and asked her if she needed a ride—she at first said she didn’t but when I explained that I had been blessed all week and was in a position to repay, she let my drive her to the airport. And most thanks to my support group—my parents—(both sets) my sister, my aunt, and friends. Everyone has helped me in someway—even if it is just someone to talk to.

Now I know I have been riding the vibe and doing well, on the flip side, I have talked to husband—he was very confused and wants to know where I am. I am not using my/our cell phone, I only to talk to him and that is when I feel like turning it on. He seems to be clam, but I believe I am getting the delayed reaction. Also after he thought it over a few days, I am willing to sign over the house to him. He will get it all—as he wants to be there and likes it,  if he plays nice. I really don’t care if they foreclose, credit can be rebuilt.

He and I have a lot of issues to deal with, things to exchange and of course the house. I think the best way I can deal with it right now is on the phone. I am only going to turn it on when I need it. The rest of the time I will try to focus on the rebuilding, remembering and loving ME!!!! I have a whole new city to explore, two new jobs to start, and a new life to create. Damn didn’t I jump off the ledge and land in the feather bed????

I am wondering how you are doing. Probably due to very different circumstances, I moved out without notice to my husband, too. How is your new life going?
