I kept doing some moderate activity during my second pregnancy and it really helped. There was a huge difference in my labor and delivery the second time around. Way easier! Laurie - The Cradle
It is very important to control pre-existing conditions. I was a diabetic before becoming pregnant and learned that tight blood sugar control (keeping it within normal levels) is essential to preventing defects in heart formation as well as other organs. But, it is important to talk to your doctor before even trying to get pregnant. In my case, my medications for diabetes and high blood pressure were switched from Glyburide to Insulin and from an ACE inhibitor to Methyldopa. Glybruide and ACE inhibitors are not recommended for pregnancy. So talk to your doctor before getting pregnant because you do not want to expose your child to harmful compounds at the earliest stages of life.
