To My Son

I fought for you while you were in my womb.
I love you with all of my heart and I am excited to see what you will do with your life.
You’ll make me so proud.

I will always be here for you;
every conference,
performance,
graduation.
You have always counted on me; now I need to count on you.

Please work hard in school and college.
Please marry a woman of character and virtue.
Please be a loving role model to your children.

In the meantime . . .

Respect Me—I am your Mother, I deserve it!
Control your emotions.
Work hard to succeed in everything you do.

I am proud of you . . . show me what you got kid!
