I loved this story!! I am also of Italian descent and spent lots of Sundays and holidays in Brooklyn with my extended family eating, laughing and loving. I share my memories with my siblings and cousins through a new blog (since I am the oldest cousin), and I am attempting to keep the memories alive for the next generation. I also work in a middle school library so the book connection was a joy!! Imagine an endless pot of pasta and good sauce...wow. My Nona's are both upstairs and yet I know they are with us everyday. Thank you.
