My Daughter’s Thoughts on Santa

“Do you want to …?” I asked her, meaning, do you want to wave at that old dude in the red suit?

“No,” she said.

My son asked her why not.

My daughter said, “I’ve seen him.”

And I think I know exactly what she meant.

this story reminds me of my childhood. im now 21 and way past the santa thing. but i caught on very early that santa wasnt real. i mean when santa comes to your house looking just like your uncle u catch on. but i too never told my parents he wasnt real. i think i just knew better. i have 2 younger siblings and as much as they annoyed me i didnt want to ruin christmas or traditions for them. my youngest sibling finally asked about santa when she was about 10 me and my brother told her the truth. she had a melt down but you could tell she knew the truth. its funny what parents lead kids onto. im glad my parents never told me. and i never told anyone either. jaime

Wow. Great capture of the moment, jamie! They grow up so fast, don't they? Almost too fast.
