You as a mother, father, significant other, and friend are running to and forth everyday to work and school. We get up in the morning, prepare for the day, shower, get dressed and prepare lunches, and look at the family calendar, note to yourself that you have to pick up your children for a sporting event, doctor’s appointment, and/or has a work presentation due. You go through your normal day rituals, come home, prepare dinner, complete chores, and put the family to bed. To wake up the next day and go through the same routine again. Yet, there are “Ah Ha” moments: a stranger does a random act of kindness for you, your child stops doing whatever they are doing and runs over to you and give you a hug.
My “Ah Ha” moment was locating this web site, and see that they list nutritious foods that we take for granted for a dollar. Start me thinking how if Americans were really aware that nutrition is a valuable component of their lives, they would throw away the junk food and stay away from the transfats. Stop giving all their money to the medical institutions and pharmalogical industry looking for that miracle cure. I am on my way to the supermarket now to buy fruits, vegetables, nuts, and dark breads to change my family eating habits. The poor do not need to suffer—nutritious foods are there; Americans need to be re-educated, to go back to grandma and grandpa’s home cooking. Time to join the bandwagon and change our eating habits.
