Organic Body Care – Naturally Caring for Your Body

Many people know that commercial body care products contain chemicals and toxins that are harmful to the body with prolonged use. Yet, nobody seems to want to do anything about it. Many do not know about the available alternatives out there that are healthier for you and your family. Here we offer some insight into what to look for when purchasing body care products, what to avoid, and what to look for in products that are beneficial to your body.

Many common skin problems and irritations, especially excessive dryness, can be solved by using organic soap. Many people think they just need to apply more moisturizer more often, but it is actually your skin telling you that a product you are using may not be the right choice. Commercial soaps are usually hard on the skin, and the chemicals used to enhance their products tend to dry out and damage skin cells.

Switching over to organic soaps may be a very easy cure for these kinds of problems. Organic hair care products and soaps are produced without the use of herbicides, chemicals, fertilizers, or pesticides. You will have to review labels carefully when purchasing soap, and do some research on some of the ingredients to make sure they are indeed good for the body. Some common ingredients include: organic aloe, organic peppermint, organic oats, sea salts, essential oils, and cinnamon.

Before we start, we need to distinguish between antiperspirants and deodorants. Antiperspirants contain work to stop perspiration completely, while deodorants just kill the bacteria that causes odor. Many people recommend using deodorants because it is more natural; allowing our bodies to sweat it out instead of keeping it in. However, there are some cases where you just don’t want to get your clothes wet, or come across as being very sweaty, i.e. when going in for a client meeting.

Aluminum-free deodorants should consist of therapeutic essential oils and all natural ingredients. This is much better for your body because many commercial brand deodorants contain a variety of harsh chemicals, like aluminum.

On top of that, many people are allergic or get irritations from using products that contain aluminum. Many people ignore itchiness and irritation because they attribute it to the sweat or the body salts. However, many times it is because of the ingredients found in your body care products that are the real culprit. If you find that your body is becoming irritated it may be caused by the sensitivity of your skin to the chemicals and toxins found in the product.

Aluminum is an especially harmful toxin, and it has been associated with a slew of health issues including: seizures, Alzheimer’s, kidney failures, breast cancer, and bone deformations.

Remember to consider which product, deodorant or antiperspirant, you need for your daily purposes. Is it running and jogging, working out at the gym? Or will you be meeting a client after a long walk to the subway? Next consider the type and the ingredients found in the product. Organic and aluminum free deodorant or antiperspirants are much better for the body than traditional ones containing many harmful toxins we don’t know about.
