6. Soup it: while the weather turns chilly as you sit blogging away, soup makes for a great comfort food. It will keep you warm and trim. And did I mention it’s the easiest food to make?

7. Meals out: so you’ve blogged yourself to death, you take a break for some dinner with friends or a loved-but-forgotten-one. Instead of ordering a huge meal, order two appetizers instead. (A recent study showed that restaurant servings are 23 percent larger today than they were in 1977.)

8. An apple a day: it keeps the pounds at bay … or something. If you feel hungry, try munching on a crisp green apple first. If you’re still hungry after, you can go ahead and cook something up. Call it the “Apple Test.”

9. Coffee calories: Bloghers, watch out for this. Java-mocca-double-wrapped coffee concoctions pack a painful calorie punch. Do it like the Italians: strong, black, and short with a dash of sugar. If it’s in the late afternoon, a dash of Grappa will never hurt you.

10. Go nutty blogger: munching on nuts can keep hunger at bay, and restore your energy levels. Pistachios are my personal addiction.

A final word to the wise—sleep more: when you sleep, you produce a hormone that regulates your appetite. Insufficient sleep will leave you craving and bingeing.
