Nothing makes me happier than adorable puppies. Today on my short drive to work I saw two dogs running with their owners and I thought to myself, what human is ever that excited about running? Therefore I am going to make it my goal to live more like those energetic little guys and I think you should join me.
I can’t think of any person that is as excited when I come home than a dog. My current townhouse doesn’t allow dogs but I have had roommates with dogs previously and of course my dogs growing up. These dogs (some of which weren’t technically even mine) were jumping, wagging, and screaming as soon as I put my key in the door. I felt like I just entered through the curtains of my very own concert, and there he is, my number one fan.
All dogs want to do is move. They sleep a lot but most dogs would prefer movement over sleep. I have watched dogs swim to the point of throwing up, play fetch until their tongues are dragging on the ground and jump out of dead sleep to greet someone. Not to say that we need to exercise to the point of nausea or exhaustion, but when is the last time you had that kind of enthusiasm?
Dogs are always in a good mood, what if humans were the same way? What if every human being woke up like dogs do? Excited, invigorated and hopeful for their day ahead, full of moving, sleeping, eating and eliminating of course. Dogs have jobs too, they have to guard the house, and they take it very seriously. Then it is all fun and games.
So let us honor our furry adorable friends and move as if moving was the most exciting part of our day. Let us run our dogs instead of our dogs running us. Let us celebrate life and the very fact that we can move! Just because we don’t walk on four legs doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate the two that we have.
