Great article. Too many folks think HFCS lies in junk food. It's not the only filler than needs to be reigned in. Soy has taken over everything, and while the health risks from eating lots of soy aren't as publicized as the HFCS debate, for folks who are allergic to soy it is a major hassle. Sugar alcohols are another funny filler. Some people can't tolerate them, causes "tummy troubles", and so whenever I see sorbitol as a filler in lactose pills or gas medicine, I can't help but laugh-why would someone looking to treat gas want a product with an ingredient that in some people causes gas? I am not sure about totally outlawing HFCS. But they have no place in food that claims to be a healthy choice.

Here's a great idea that I hope the rest of the huge food industry follows up with: Pepsi and Mountain Dew now have "Throwback" versions. They are (I hope) completely free of HFCS! Just plain old sugar! It tastes ok, though definitely different. Enjoy!
