Any savvy dieter knows that calories in liquid form can easily clock up.
But, this is a shocking statistic: America’s unhealthiest drink contains a whopping 2,010 calories. That’s an average woman’s entire daily intake.
The drink in question, the Cold Stone PB&C (peanut butter and chocolate), has the dubious distinction of being crowned “Worst Beverage in America“ in Men’s Health “20 Worst Drinks in America 2010”.
With 2,010 calories, 131g of fat (68g of that is saturated fat), and 153g sugar, this 24fl oz drink is apparently popular with tourists, but not with residents of the Cold Stone ice cream shop, in Marina Del Rey, California.
Cold Stone sells on average 8—1 of these shakes per week at the large “Gotta Have It“ size.
Yes, the calorie, fat, and sugar content is shocking. But really, how many consumers expect a drink containing chocolate, ice cream, and peanut butter to be a healthy option?
Milkshakes are notorious for clocking up the calories (McDonald’s Triple Thick Chocolate Milkshake, also included in the Men’s Health report, contains 1,160 calories). Customers may well be buying the drink as an alternative to a dessert, and sharing it. Even so, this definitely isn’t a diet-friendly option.
