So I Know I Am Stressed, but Now What?!

“Sometimes you have to take the leap, and build your wings on the way down.”—Kobi Yamada

Last week I discussed the role of cortisol in your body.

Now I will give you some help in lowering your cortisol levels.

  1. Find an anti-aging doctor who specializes in bio-identical hormone therapy.
  2. Focus on feeling good so you can release more of the feel-good hormones to combat the stress hormones.
  3. Find more stillness (yoga, meditation).
  4. Change your relationship with food, exercise, and your body (my specialty!).
  5. Create relaxing dining experiences.
  6. Gratitude journaling every day.
  7. Women: Talk to someone who will listen to you. We release our feel-good hormones when we are talking and being heard.
  8. Men: Veg out! Men release feel-good hormones when they numb out at the end of the day for fifteen to twenty minutes.
  9. Women: don’t talk to men at the end of the day because they need to veg out and you need to be heard!
  10. Men: Solve problems—this releases feel-good hormones.
  11. Women: Help others—this releases feel good hormones.
Hopefully that can get you started with getting more of those feel-good hormones and less of the stress hormones. Remember, this is a process and there is nothing perfect about it and it truly never ends. We are always on a journey and always learning, so be ready for whatever comes your way. The most important thing is to get out of stress mode, so focus on just this task!
