My Massage Therapy Testimony

This article was my speech when I graduated from my Massage therapy training in October 2009.

As a housewife, I use to do light and heavy household task like washing, cooking, sweeping, gardening, placing in order mis-arranged things, going to the market, and some errands. Having three kids (two in college and one in grade six) gives me a lot of stress tending to their needs—physically, emotionally, mentally, and even financially. Aside from all of these I am also active in my physical fitness routine like walking, aerobics, cycling, and weight-lifting, doing it three to four times a week. Spending one to two or more hours on my computer and cross-stitching (my hobby) I used my brain, eyes, and hands, needing a lot of concentration. Hence after doing all these activities I felt so exhausted, my whole body ached. Taking a pain reliever is just a twenty-four hour medicine to cease the pain of my tired body. Since then I began searching for an alternative that has lasting effect until I come across about reflexology.

When my friend Nimfa, told me about training on massage therapy I was so excited about it, I immediately enrolled, thinking this is the answer to what I am searching for, I wanted to experience and learn the actual performance and study how beneficial is to an individual.

After each session of our demonstration activity, as a model I feel so relaxed I would feel the energy coming back to me on those little and big joints of my body. I felt so comfortable from the pressure I feel on my skin, beginning from my fingertips, up to my head, down to my feet.

After a session on my feet I feel a lightness, as if I am walking on air, as if a big hump going away from my shoulders, the heavy load I carried on my back vanished, the tightening waist lighten—muscle pain on arms and hands cease, I feel a glow on my face, stiff neck no more. Pulling the hair relax my scalp, extra comfort on my buttocks. Foremost a very cool, beautiful, good feeling and fresh wake up in the morning as I glance the sun smiling at me, as if yesterday was not a busy day. I am sure benefited from it because I have a positive response in mental and physical aspect, better yet I feel more flexible than before.

I agree. The first time I had a massage I could not believe how relaxed my body felt. I think everyone should get one at least once a week.
It feels good to write.
