Fresh-en Up

There are some brands that I adore for one or two fabulous products, and there are other brands where I adore everything they make.

Fresh is one of those brands that I just can’t get enough of. From their makeup to their skincare to their fragrances, I want it all. I’ve yet to try something from them that didn’t make me instantly want to call all my friends and make them buy it too. The only “problem” (and I use that word loosely) with Fresh is that it’s pretty pricey. It’s not a brand that can usually be an impulse buy for me, although that being said, I have been known to spontaneously pick up a bottle of its Sugar Lemon To Go, which is one of my favorite fragrances and only $24.50 for a one-ounce spray. One of the things I’d resisted buying up until now had been the Sugar Lip Treatments, mainly because I can justify a lot of things, but even I have trouble justifying what is essentially a $22.50 lip balm. Well, I guess Fresh just hadn’t come out with the right shade yet, because the second I laid eyes on the new Sugar Passion Tinted Lip Treatment, I was sold. I almost ran to the register with excitement.

I know the word “perfect” gets used a lot, but seriously, this shade of red is perfect. It’s subtle, but not so subtle that you can’t tell it’s there. I’m a big fan of red lips, but I especially love them during the colder weather, and this is a great tint for during the day or at work because it’s distinctive, but not in your face bright or glittery. It’s just…perfect. It also has a delightful lemony-fresh scent as well as SPF 15 so your lips will be protected from the sun. Besides the great red tint, though, it’s also a fabulous moisturizer. My lips stay soft and hydrated and never get chapped at all when I’m using it. Sure, maybe a Chapstick or Smith’s Rosebud Salve could do the same thing for less money, but they won’t have the splurge-worthy red tint to them, and for me, that’s worth paying the extra money for. My only problem is that now that I’ve finally given in and bought my first one, I kind of want to get all the other shades, especially Sugar Honey, a warm nude. Someone remind me that I have bills to pay—quick!
