Three Steps to a Younger You

If you look and feel older than you should, you’re not alone. Every year, women hit the gym and book in for Botox to help improve their looks. There’s nothing worse than feeling haggard, so it’s time to boost your appearance.
Here are three ways to achieve a younger, more confident you:
  1. Exercise: If you’ve a saggy bum or cottage cheese thighs, why not work out a few times a week? A good gym session will help improve muscle tone and is believed to combat cellulite. Researches think that unwanted lumps and bumps are caused by a sluggish lifestyle, so try running on the treadmill. A fitness class could also boost your mood, as exercise releases happy hormones known as endorphins. Lunges, star jumps and squats can all help you feel a million dollars, so get moving while you still can. Sweat will purge toxins from your body and the extra water you drink should help clear up your skin.
  2. Eat a well-balanced diet: Eating a well-balanced diet will not only help you to maintain a healthy weight, but it’ll give you the energy you need to get through the day. It’s important to keep your blood sugar levels at an appropriate level, so be sure to eat small, snacks at regular intervals. Stick to foods rich in protein or opt for complex carbohydrates such as brown pasta or rice. Avoid sugary treats as these might cause your energy levels to crash. Fruits such as avocados are high in monounsaturated fat which helps to reduce cholesterol. Strawberries are full of antioxidant compounds and pomegranates are thought to reduce the risk of heart disease. Bananas are rich in potassium and watermelon is loaded with glutathione which helps boost the immune system—so start eating your five a day.
  3. Enjoy a thorough grooming routine: There’s no shame in spending some time looking after your appearance. Take the time to exfoliate in the shower and always moisturize your skin. Pluck your eyebrows, straightened your hair and even paint your nails. A bit of pampering and preening will help lift your mood and you’ll feel younger and more confident before you know it. Too many of us forget to look after ourselves and our looks can soon fade. So, if you've got a bit of spare cash why not treat yourself to a facial peel or book a course of microdermabrasion? Many non-surgical treatments are available at affordable prices and will help revamp your appearance. We all need a little TLC from time to time, so make sure you take good care of yourself and you’ll hopefully feel a million times better.
