Skin Care Tips: About Oily Skin

Oily skin has dilated pores, dull complexion, shiny complexion, blackheads, and pimples. The oiliness of the skin can change from day to day, depending on the sun, the wind, time of the year, and the weather. The oil glands produce excessive lipids. Touching oily skin may sometimes leave a residue of oil on the fingertips. Often a chronically oily skin has enlarged coarse pores and pimples and other blemishes. It is prone to blackheads. Oily skin is caused by hyperactivity of the sebaceous glands that produce more oil than is needed due to puberty or other hormonal imbalances, stress, antibiotics, and exposure to heat or excessive humidity.

Skin care tips:

  • Cleanse your face twice a day. Use a cleanser free of harsh chemicals. Skin care products with chemicals will create more oil production. Don’t scrub or cleanse the skin too often as this will also cause more oil to produce.
  • Alternate cold and hot showers regularly. Alternating hot and cold showers improves the blood flow in your body thus providing your skin cells with vitally needed oxygen and nutrients.
  • Use an astringent daily to remove excess oil.
  • Moisturize your face if your skin feels tight after cleansing. Use a shielding lotion which bonds with the outer layer of the skin to form a protective barrier.

Thanks for such useful tips. Is it right that there is more chance for oily skin, being affected by auto-immune disorders like <a href="http://www.antivitiligo.com/">vitili...
