Since I still don’t know exactly what is wrong me with, I have decided to continue working (there isn’t any reason, other than I am constantly nauseated, in pain, and generally feeling run-down, and I’ve been having fevers at night). I get up between 5:15 and 5:30 every morning to get my eight-year-old ready for school by making sure her clothes are laid out and she has the right shoes and then by helping her get dressed, usually by putting on her cami, and then letting her take it from there. I make sure she brushes her hair out (Dad braids it at night for her before bed) and then in the morning takes the braid down.
I stay up to surf the Internet, go on Facebook, or come here to blog about whatever it is I may be thinking about, and then get myself ready for work. Today is no exception. I already had a cup of coffee, and now, here at twenty after 6 a.m. I am on the computer blogging about how I am feeling—which is nauseated because I had a temperature last night of 100.8; it has broken and didn’t really last all that long. I am wasting time until I have to take my shower and get dressed for work.
I wouldn’t be going in today except for the sad fact that one of my coworker’s father passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon and she is not coming into work for very obvious reasons. She’s got two bereavement days from work and I hope she takes them both. Then of course, she’ll have to be off for the funeral unless they have it during the weekend. But no matter.
I have to work despite not feeling 100 percent, but as I said, I can’t leave my other three coworkers hanging ... one of them is entirely too new to take on her own group to help out, so it is up to me to be there and help out. Not a problem. I will make it through the day. After which, I get to go see my primary care physician and have my left ear washed out. Hopefully that will take care of the ear pain (and deafness) I have been experiencing for the past few days.
Until next time,
Donna
