I finally have an appointment with the rheumatologist this Monday. I wasn’t originally scheduled to see him until January 22, 2011, but the scheduler (Alicia) told me it was all right with her if I called every day to see if there was a cancellation. I called her on Tuesday to see if there were any cancellations and she said, “At this moment, no.” Then, about twenty minutes later I got a return phone call from her saying a cancellation had just come up and would I be interested in coming in on Monday at 9 a.m. I said sure!
I’m so glad I called her and checked. Now I’ll get to find out what autoimmune disease I have. If I even have one. I was diagnosed with R.A. when I was twenty-seven in my left ankle, guess we’ll see if that’s really true or not ... I’m guessing it’ll show on the blood test or however it’s figured out.
I’m nervous about what the results are going to be. I’m hoping its R.A., but it could be lupus too. I don’t know. Whatever it is, it’s treatable and I can live with it. Finally having an answer as to what may have caused the fistula is going to be of great relief and putting a name to my disease will go a long way to making me feel better and understanding why I am the way I am (tired, sore), and hopefully a decision on what to do about the fistula and the resulting pain inside my belly.
Until next time,
Donna
