Life can be tricky and can send you scrambling in different directions. There are good things that happen to you as well as bad things can come your way. Life is full of problems and we are not to react in shock when things do not work out the way we planned. But how much of life are we actually in control of? Why do bad things happen to good people? Is it the choices we make along the way? Do not agonize over your choices in life, consider them as both true until you know otherwise. My life is full of mistakes and I consider that living. I do not blame myself for the struggles in life and neither should you.
I find that fear is a good thing. It made me afraid to do certain things and it probably kept me out of trouble a few times. But the opposite of fear is faith, and that is also a good thing. The bible says, “We should live by faith and not fear.” Faith is not just believing in God: it is also believing in someone else. It is the definition of love to see in someone all that is good and true inside of them. In other words, faith and love go hand in hand; one cannot exist without the other.
Hate can be as beneficial as love. If you hate sin, you are not likely to dwell in areas where you may fall into sin. The perspectives are confusing and that is the dilemma of the human mind. You must hate the sin but love the sinner. The same things that you may hate about a person may also be found in you and you can easily find that you hate your own thoughts. Balance out hate with love and faith.
In conclusion, the world is not a struggle of good verses evil but a balance between good and evil. We were born with the knowledge of right and wrong. I knew it was wrong to steal change out of my father’s pockets while he was sleeping, but I wanted to gratify my craving for candy. The evil self that steals is a part of who I am and is there along with the self that loves and would never do anything to hurt someone. My choice of stealing was wrong and I found out the hard way. By acknowledging that life has opposites, you can live with the fact you are not always right and you are not always wrong.
