“Silent night, holy night, all is calm …” says the beautiful Christmas carol. Have you taken time this season to find your silent, holy, and calm night? Perhaps you can put on some Christmas music, light a fire or candle, and reflect upon your year.
In today’s turbulent times, I find it an important part of my day to have some quiet time. Yes, I take a few minutes to give praise for my blessings. To some, I don’t have a lot, yet to others I do. Perspective can be a funny thing!
Regardless, I am grateful for that which I possess. I offer thanks for my friends, my family, and my health. These treasures hold a special place in my heart.
For all of us, the holiday season brings up so many feelings: some happy, some sad, and some indifferent emotions grasp the soul. I find it okay to let my being take in each one of my thoughts. Herein, I let the process of life take its course.
This season, whether you have a lot or a little, find some time for gratefulness. Learn to connect with your friends and family in new ways. Perhaps find some forgiveness for those who have done you wrong, and offer an extra thank you for those who have been there for you.
Finally, consider the words “silent,” “holy,” and “calm.” Let them be in your own holiday song. When you do, your life will surely be bright!
