Going With the Flow of the Retrograde
Since we are in a Mercury Retrograde until December 14, I thought this would be a good opportunity to talk about the energy around the Retrograde, and its various uses.
We hear a lot about being careful during Mercury Retrograde. Communications can become muddled, connections dropped or mixed up, plans thwarted.
This aspect of Mercury Retrograde challenges us to be more careful, to take life a bit slower and to state our thoughts clearly.
All of the abovementioned aspects of the Mercury Retrograde are helpful, but we don’t have to just batten down the hatches, so to speak, every time there is a Retrograde. There is another aspect to this energy, an empowering aspect, that I want to discuss today.
The other day I was prompted by my Spirit Guides to share a Distant Reiki and tuning forks session for friends going through a rough time. The core of the issue is communication that has been twisted and corrupted.
As I worked, calling in the energy of Mercury to bring to light the areas that needed clarity, justice and truth, and Saturn to set in order the out of order communications, I realized that while our concern over the miscommunications that can occur during a Mercury Retrograde are valid, that the energy works both ways.
This was such an astounding discovery, a head-smacking, “Of course!” moment that I felt it was important to share with you all.
Since we know that communications traveling in the usual orbits can become snarled during a Mercury Retrograde, it stands to reason that communications that have been deliberately manipulated can be unraveled at this time. In short, we can use the energy of Mercury Retrogrades to undo miscommunications that have been going on for awhile—especially those that are being created deliberately.
Examples of miscommunications that can be set right or unraveled at this time: Projects constantly getting “lost” at work, people taking credit for your ideas, people misrepresenting you behind your back, people appearing to be friendly when speaking to you yet by action showing the opposite.
I like to think of those frustrating situations as if they were the stone at the end of a pendulum. As the pattern is being created, the stone will spin counter-clockwise since the actions are counter to Universal Law. Since a Mercury Retrograde is in some ways a reversal of energy, you can call those energies back into order at these times, which will cause the energy to spin in the opposite direction, causing the lies, deception and collusion to UN-do themselves.
This is not the same as sending frustrated, angry or vindictive energy to anyone as a result of deliberate miscommunication. This is simply following the Universal Law that says that every energy pattern will come to a place of balance.
To use the energy of Mercury’s Retrograde phase in a Reiki session, clearly state the issues at hand. Release them to the Universe and ask the energy of Mercury Retrograde to undo the damage that has been done. If you use tuning forks, be sure to use Mercury and Saturn, and end with the Sun fork, to “bring light” to the miscommunications so that they can be worked out for the highest good of all.
If you use stones or crystals in your Reiki sessions, a good choice for unraveling communication issues is Cat’s Eye, because if it’s wonderful clearing and balancing energy.
Place pieces of Cat’s Eye on the 3rd Eye and around the crown, picture the situation, describe it and declare that it is being reversed.
You can also use a pendulum above the body or in front if you are doing this for yourself, declaring that the miscommunication be cleared and the situation be filled with light.
Seeing Mercury Retrograde energy in this light will help you derive more benefit from this wonderful energy of reversal.
