Oh Lord

I am bi-polar and when my mother passed away quite suddenly I found myself writing this poem. I don’t really remember writing it but it felt as if someone was taking my hand and guiding it

Everyone has friends who are true
But there is not a friend as true as you
When I go to bed at night and clasp my hands in prayer
Oh my lord I know you are there

When I’m sitting alone and in despair
Oh my lord I know you are there
Oh lord in times of doubt I know
You will always love me so

Show me that you care for me
And if I face a trial today
Oh dear lord, be with me I pray

Some friends I haven’t seen in a long time
But my lord you are truly mine
Dear lord abide in me
Show me that you care for me

When all the beauty of the world I see
I know you will never forsaken me

AS I said at the beginning this was right after my mother passed, I didn’t go into a depression as one would normally expect, and writing of poems are still with me today.

May god bless

I loved the poem. I am smypathize with you surrounding the lost of your mother. Your poems are inspirational, and certainly a delight to read. I am happy you are able to find ways to release your thoughts of expression, its certainly needed. Depression is no good for any one, I have had many trails in my life, and there are times I feel alone too. However, my children and husband are source of strength to me. Writing is therapy and also a way for me to clear my head from so many thoughts. I am a thinker, and I would like to relax my mind but its for ever running some where, marriage, friendships, job, money, stress, bills, or just nothing at all. Even the nothing is something a lot of times. I love sharing, its a way for many of us to gain freedom in our souls. Thanks for sharing your articles and poems.
It feels good to write.
