There is a lot of literature out there about the damage stress can cause. Your body, heart, and mind may be at risk if you are not careful. So how’s a girl (or guy) supposed to know if they are dealing with things just fine or just fooling themselves? Check out this list to see if you might need to schedule a little massage therapy:
1. You drink more coffee than water.
2. You talk more to your TV screen than to your spouse.
3. Your idea of getting some exercise is walking to your car to pick up your lunch at the McDonald’s drive-thru.
4. You really believe your hair looks better if you don’t shampoo it for three days.
5. Somewhere along the way you started the habit of crushing up Excedrin tablets in your peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
6. You are driving home from work and you forgot which freeway exit is yours.
7. You would rather use paper plates then wash the dishes.
8. You are driving to work and you swear the radio personality just screamed at you to wake up and stop speeding.
9. You forgot what year it is.
10. You enjoy making mountains on your desk with papers, staples, and paper clips. Then you fantasize about setting it on fire.
11. You start to visualize that you are an alien, and you explode out of your boss’s belly.
12. You came from your upstairs office to go down to the kitchen to use your computer.
13. When you see magical fireflies dance in the night you fantasize about capturing them in a jar, then crushing them with a sledgehammer.
14. You rediscover acne at fifty years of age.
15. You start to like “the wrinkled look.”
16. Staples TV commercials make you burst out crying.
17. Lean Cuisine dinners are too much trouble to prepare.
18. It’s easier to just eat peanut butter out of the jar with your forefinger.
19. You realize your dog has been eating all the grass in your back yard because you forgot to feed her.
20. You are at the supermarket and you find yourself staring at the canned peaches for twenty minutes.
21. You hear an infant crying and you become envious that this lucky baby has no responsibilities.
22. The last movie you went to was the original Rocky.
23. You start to take a shower and you forget whether hot is right or left, and you didn’t think to look that it’s plainly written.
24. You are afraid to sleep, because every time you close your eyes you see your Mother and you hear her saying, “You husband is such a loser!”
25. Someone asked you your name and you didn’t know what to say.
No doubt there are any more. The point is to try to keep yourself from getting overwhelmed before it’s too late. Practice the power of positive thinking. The law of attraction really does work, so if you put good thoughts out in the universe you are bound to get some goodies back in your direction.
