Helping You Feel Better

1. Walk with your head held high to balance the crown you are wearing.

2. Tighten your abs, lift your head up, and pull your shoulders down away from your neck so that you are no longer slouching. Take a deep breath and utter to yourself, “I am beautiful, and I can do anything.”

3. Notice when you verbally put yourself down in front of others. For example, many of us say, “Ugh I’m such an idiot.” Next time you do this, follow that statement with, “No, I’m not an idiot. I take that back.”

4. Paint your fingernails and toenails with a nail polish color that makes you feel sexy and mysterious.

5. Give someone a compliment. (It’s easy to do through email and text.)

6. Thank your Higher Power for the confidence you have that is growing.

7. On a piece of paper write the statement, “I love myself” and stick it on a mirror in your home. Read this statement out loud and give yourself a kiss (against the mirror). Do this for a week and the next week, add another positive affirmation.

8. Do Yoga. (If it’s your first time and you are nervous because you aren’t flexible, it’s ok—you will get flexible.)

9. For ONE day, do not pick up a People, OK, or US Weekly magazine. Stop comparing yourself to airbrushed images. Instead, go to Barnes and Noble and purchase Louise Hay’s You Can Heal Your Life.
