Just Dance

“Just dance, it’ll be okay. Da da do do, just dance get the record, baby, dance, dance, dance.” I smash the lyrics of the song by the emerging trendsetting artist whose name escapes me for the time being ... (It might come back to me once I finish writing my first article on this cool blog!)

Dance is not only great physically, but it is also very liberating, expressive, creative, and yes, powerful. I love, love, love my dance class. It has awakened the fierce woman in me again. With every pulsating step and sway of the hips, I feel the strength of my mind, body, and soul being reignited for the next chapter in my life. Dance for me has been like the emergence from the cocoon as a sexy, savvy butterfly ready to take charge and take on life’s wonderful blessings in disguise.

The dance studio reminds me of Fame, the show with Coco and Leroy where the melodrama was left on the dance floor. With its hardwood floors and gleaming mirrors, it allows you to get in touch with yourself—your feelings, emotions, and expressions. The reflection in the mirror says, “You are who you are: dynamic, graceful, unique, sexy, and yes sensual.” So before going out into the world, get in front of the mirror and just dance! (Oh darn, my article is finished and I still can’t remember who sings the song!)
