Welcome Back! It seems like just yesterday that I sat down at my computer to send my annual reflections and wish you and yours a happy New Year. Last year the mantra, “Letting Go in 2004,” was to remind us that past grievances should remain there: in the past. If you’ve carried around baggage for years, 2004 was the time to leave it at the airport unclaimed—with no forwarding address.
As the year comes to a close, I can’t help but reminisce about the past 300 plus days. They have been exciting, painful, treacherous, wonderful, brilliant, and full of surprises. And I wouldn’t trade in one single moment of them! I dig deep and think of what I hope to achieve in the new year. I had exhausted myself to no end trying to control outcomes, persuade fate, and push destiny in directions that were not in agreement with me. It was a power struggle and you can guess who lost. Well now that I’ve picked myself up and dusted myself off, I realized that I needed to just believe! To take a deep breath, hold it .... and exhale. Allow life to happen and stop trying to orchestrate it. Revel in all that we are to learn, see, and feel. If what we learn hurts; what we see is horrifying or what we feel brings anguish, take it all because it means we are alive! And when you are done picking yourself up and dusting yourself off, continue on your road and keep the faith for better days.
The path we are on in life was handpicked special for us. Be sure to pack lightly on your journey and make room in your life for more wonderful and brilliant pieces that you will find along the way.
Take your eyes off the destination, my friends, and just enjoy the scenery for a change. Open your window and take a deep breath, hold it ... and exhale! If you happen to pass by me on your journey, be sure to wave hello!
