You have heard it all before; journal your thoughts. Write it down. Make it happen.
I have been gifted many of the most beautifully handcrafted journals. And, I have picked up the everyday run of the mill college ruled notebooks, but I could not seem to make a habit of jotting down my thoughts …until lately! I have found a fun way to “daydream.”
In my newest life journal, I have found the way to let my heart overflow with the joys of journaling by daily writing down only two, that’s right, only two things that I would like to do in my lifetime. I dream big. I mean really BIG! I look right into the future and pretend it is the present. I write down my wishes for my time here on Earth. I do not censor myself and I do not even think about HOW these wishes will manifest themselves. I just explore all the possibilities life has to offer and write the choices I am interested in! I select from the fun to the frivolous; the practical to the unconventional. I don’t pick favorites. I just write them all down.
You too can play along. Just pick up your favorite pen and jot down your top two wishes for the day and then add just one thing you can do before the week ends to move that wish item forward to fruition. Continue this process for each of your wish list items.
Then, take the action steps towards making each wish a conviction. After each action, review to see how it has moved you closer to that wish becoming a reality. DO NOT BECOME discouraged! If need be, rework a step or steps. If you are not sure how to make changes, make it a habit to write in this part of your reflections to see where you might get some new ideas for more novel action steps for the future. I try to do this right before writing my nighttime gratitude list. This helps keep everything in perspective.
The experience of writing in your journal each day is a gift that keeps on giving. It is also a safe way to release anything toxic that came your way during the day. As the stressors break away you are able to progress on a positive path toward the life you want to create for your tomorrows. All in all, this practice will make your life lighter and will provide you with a road map to your dreams.
