“You are my chosen vessel,”
said the Master to the Lamb.
“You must carry out my message
to the sinners in the land.
Many will hear your message.
Many more will turn away.
But, carry on your mission,
for a remnant shall be saved.
You will be flogged and beaten,
then hung upon a cross.
But, if you do not go, humanity will be lost.
Ages ago, I made this plan to have you
for my right hand.
You were always my only choice,
and how the angels did rejoice.
When, even knowing you would die
in disgrace with people jeering
and spitting in your face.
You wanted to go, knowing no one
else could ever take your place.
Long have I loved this willful people
of mine, wanting to redeem them,
one person at a time,
Wanting them to know You, My Love Sublime.
For my love has a way of healing all,
of setting captives free, knowing
that there will come the day
When all will see that Love, not Hate,
is the better way to be.
I am ‘The Great I Am,’
the World’s Most Wonderful One.
By my word, all was created,
not a thing was left undone.
So now, dear Son, tell all
who are weary of traveling alone,
To pick up this new tune and
start singing along.”
From: King James Bible, James 1:2–4
Count it all joy when you fall into
various trials, knowing that the testing
of your faith produces patience.
But, let patience have its perfect work,
that you may be perfect and complete,
lacking nothing.
