Jesus: My Idol, My Inspiration, My Lord

I’m always inspired by Jesus’s miracles, so I started my silent prayer while I continued cooking. I was not going to tell my relatives to go home. And I was glad to share the food with them—even thought it was far too little for fifty people. I calculated over and over again… fifty people and only one kilo of pork meat, one kilo of spaghetti, one kilo of macaroni salad, rolls to share with everyone, and bread (which some liked with their spaghetti).

When we were finished cooking, we set the table right away, and I made it a buffet setting. I was praying while placing the food into the utensils (like in catering services). I was scooping the spaghetti to transfer to the serving dish, and while doing that, I kept praying to God to make enough for everyone, because I knew it wouldn’t be. After the dish was already full, I looked down into the cooking pot and my mind shouted for joy! Praise God! The cooking pot still had more than half of the spaghetti left!

After finishing setting the table, I requested the women and children to eat first (as the area is limited for this many people), and the men to eat after them. The evening was over and everyone had eaten already. They said goodbye, and went home, since the night was getting late. But the young men stayed for a while to drink a few beers.

On this day, I learned another lesson—even though this scenario can be read in the Bible. But God always teaches us touch lessons in our lives so we can have faith in him. If we are just conscious at all times, and every day, we see God’s miracles and how we works on our lives. He continues to teach us, and help us to become a strong person—even in the last breath of our lives. (I remember a family member, and their death was near or dying, but still, they continued to live on positively, and still have faith in God even though they are dying.)

All of these years, I always feel how God works in my life. Even if there are times I forget to thank him, praise him, and call him. He always wants to get my attention—even if not in very good ways (like life struggles, trails, problems, tests, circumstances, mourning, depression, financial, illnesses, and more things). Yes, he does, so that I can pray to him, call him, and ask for his help all the times I’m in need!
